OUR STORY
Joe Adeeb continues to make his mark as a restaurateur. Growing up, he worked in his family’s famous restaurants: The GreenTurtle in Jacksonville, Florida and The Sea Turtle in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Both restaurants were annually recognized with the prestigious Golden Spoon Award and became known nationally for their fresh Florida seafood and charbroiled steaks.
After returning from Vanderbilt in 1976, Joe was drawn back to his passion and worked once again in the family business with his brother and father. Soon after, in 1980, Joe and his wife Brenda had an incredible opportunity to purchase the equally famous Bono’s Bar-B-Q located in their hometown of Jacksonville, Florida.
Bono’s was extremely special to Joe and Brenda. It was where they had their first date in 1968. Joe later added a sister restaurant named Willie Jewell’s Old School Bar-B-Q. It was inspired by and named in homage to one of its most distinguished associates, Ms. Willie Jewell Daniels. Bono’s and Willie Jewell’s restaurants currently serve fantastic bar-b-q at 37 locations across 5 different states.
Joe’s passion drew him back into the world of seafood once again and in 2018 he opened the Aiken Fish House and Oyster Bar. This was soon followed by the Peachtree City Yacht Club in 2021. Joe’s passion for bar-b-q and southern seafood cuisine along with time-tested recipes (some of which go back to 1949 when Bono’s and the Green Turtle first opened), have led to the Green Valley Smokehouse and Oyster Bar where both cuisines come together in an exciting new concept.
Joe is thrilled to be working with a dear family friend Pat Hamill and the wonderful team at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club, to bring a truly unique dining experience to Denver and the Green Valley Ranch community. We thank you for giving us the honor of serving you. Welcome and enjoy!
